From student to student
At the Department of Family Medicine, international students from the Faculty of Medicine organise the elective subject “Practical Skills for Students of Medicine”. The aim of this subject is to teach future doctors necessary practical skills.
This course uses the peer-tutoring method. More advanced students teach the younger students and the course is conducted as workshops.
By the end of the course, the student-trainer knows the principles of organising teaching sessions and preparing teaching materials, and has practical experience with compiling teaching materials. They know how to guide younger students in acquiring practical skills and can work in a team.
Younger students know how to apply the practical skills to clinical work.
