Residency in the field of family medicine
The education obtained allows students to work in the health care system as a family physician.
During the residency, medical residents in the field of family medicine must complete theoretical and practical training organised by the Department of Family Medicine in cooperation with other family medicine centres and specialist clinics. Training in family medicine is conducted in the form of practical medical work at the base institutions for residency, which is complemented by theoretic studies.
Residency in family medicine used to be a 3-year study involving practical and theoretical training. Starting form 1 September 2019, it is a 4-year study.
